species fucking

if you missed the mardi gras parade on saturday night then you forsook the opportunity to witness the glory that was the thaw ballerina chickens (complete with interpretive dance to opera), not to mention the sleekly subversive cat, a cuh-ray-zee monkey and a bunch of vegie dancers!!!

the night in question featured a whole lot of gender fucking*, and discussions of species fucking. which brings me neatly to the below flyer. are they human or mermaid^? or one of each (i only see one tail!)? can a mythical being really be considered another species??? who knows the answer to these pertinent questions...

all i really know is that you should come along to these shows.

if you want a really special treat then venture up into the mountains on monday april the 2nd and partake in a night of powerful beauty:

ryokuchi + firewitch + the thaw
@ akemi, great western highway (meadlow bath, blue mountains)
from 7pm

there will be such a cacophony of droning bass love and mountainous beauty and delish baking and ace jap-english!

xxx kat thaw

ps this post may be slightly confusing as we still have 2 shows for march (see below), plus there's some rumor that some band called "what the" may be playing this thing called renegade parade... dunno what that's all about...

*if you are not familiar with this term (much as i recently was not), it refers to those who dress in an androgynous manner so as to confuse the onlooker - are they male or female? thus demonstrating that allot of what we perceive to be genetically pre-determined in the sexes is rather a product of society and gender constructs. but really i made this up from part of a tired 5 second conversation on the roadside so it's more likely a bunch of palaver...

^i wonder if there's gender fucking in the merpeople world? for aren't there mermaids and mermen? or is it a non-gender specific species?

dear kat,
maybe merlife is one big gender fuck, especially considering that they have no discernable genitalia - this probably has deep implications for their sexual identities and their societies' conceptions of femininity and masculinity. so basically they're living the ultimate gender-species combo fuck... haha

while we're on the awesome topic of merpeople, i also rkn that they make love by rubbing scales in a breathtakingly passionate and energetic sea dance, and when they orgasm their fins flutter wildly and they vocalise their pleasure by singing a song that moves water and that's how waves are made. so every time you're at the beach and you get owned by a huge wave, there's a happy merperson or two or three or how ever many out there. this is all very speculative of course (in the sense that i made that whole thing about their sex lives up the other day and also because of the fact that they are very elusive creatures...), but still highly plausible.

love steph x

ps: also on a related note, since merpeople are so involved in how the sea moves, they are linked to the moon, which plays a crucial role in the transformation of werewolves, who are also species fuckers. i really like centaurs too. and hot dragon ladies, like the one in the golden child... remember her??? wow!

pps: the golden child is an awesome film. great moments include: the kid eating one leaf a day because the evil peeps wanted to give him porridge with blood in it and he just happened to have a plant stem in his pocket that he'd pull out once a day and pick a leaf off to eat; the little tin dancer the kid made out of a coke can, which shows how laughter and beauty can come from evil; eddy murphy at the temple spinning the special spinny thing like a record and goin "i-i-i-i want the kniiife"; the fact the female love interest just HAD to wear a white dress and then get soaked by a wayward burst water pipe, which is totally lame but so lame that it's funny; and also just that it's such a random movie but it made this huge impact on me and my brother and sister cos my dad rented it for us one school holiday and we watched it about 8 times... heehee i have a notebook where i wrote out my favourite lines from the film, mostly ones from the hobo dude about "turtle spines"

ppps: this is the longest comment ever... jesus!

i thought it was until i went to that website (www.thebestdayever.com) and had a squiz. it's all about raw food diets and super food seminars and selling people the secret to staying young! what a rip!

kinda scary though... wouldn't be surprised if it was true. maybe we should start our own experiment?
